Working visit of Pavel Latushka to Spain
23.09.2015 г.On September 18, 2015 Ambassador of Belarus to Spain Pavel Latushka held a number of meetings in Madrid.
During the meeting with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain Ignacio Ibanez Rubio the parties discussed a wide range of matters related to Belarus-Spain cooperation. Pavel Latushko and Ignacio Ibanez discussed the prospects of developing the dialogue between Belarus and the European Union. Special attention was paid to bilateral relations in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres. The parties agreed a schedule of upcoming meetings between representatives of the Foreign Ministries of both countries, approved the signing of bilateral documents in the economic sphere. Also, an understanding was reached on the conclusion of an agreement in tourism industry, organization of meetings for heads of government agencies of Belarus and Spain responsible for the cooperation in this field. During the conversation the two officials discussed joint projects in the cultural and educational spheres.
On the same day, Pavel Latushka met with Deputy Director General of the Department on Trade Policy with Europe, Asia and Oceania of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of Spain Maria Aparici Gonzalez. The parties coordinated a draft intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the sphere of economy and industry, which involves the creation of a Belarusian-Spanish intergovernmental committee on economic cooperation. Pavel Latushka and Maria Gonzalez also agreed on holding a presentation of opportunities in trade, economic and investment cooperation with Belarus in Madrid, to be supported by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of Spain. During the meeting, the parties also looked into ways of Spain’s supporting cooperation between Belarus and the WTO and between Belarus and the OECD.
At the meeting with General Director of Services for the Family and Childhood in the Spanish Ministry for Health, Social Services and Equalty of Spain Salome Adroher Biosca the parties discussed the practical application of Spanish laws related to the organization of recreation of Belarusian children in Spain. Pavel Latushka and Salome Bioska discussed the implementation of the intergovernmental agreement on recuperation of Belarusian children in Spain, as well as the legal regulation of recuperation of Belarusian children in various regions of Spain.
During the meeting with the Deputy Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain Jorge Naval the Belarusian Ambassador, on behalf of the Government of Belarus, handed over the patent for the appointment of Honorary Consul of Belarus in the city of Alicante. Honorary Consulate of Belarus in Alicante is scheduled to open in November.
During the meetings with representatives of several Spanish companies the parties discussed possible deliveries of Belarus-made BelAZ heavy dump trucks, Belarusian glass, petrochemical and wood industry products to Spain and third countries.
Belarusian Ambassador to Spain met with representatives of the Belarusian community. A discussion on the preparation of a number of Belarusian-Spanish joint projects in the sphere of culture and education, which are scheduled for late 2015 — second half of 2016, took place.
