On the work of the Belarusian delegation at the 38th session of the UNESCO General Conference

The Delegation of the Republic of Belarus led by Mrs. Alena Kupchyna, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, takes part in the 38th session of the UNESCO General Conference.

November 5, 2015, Mrs. Kupchyna met Mrs. Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director General.

Mrs. Kupchyna and Mrs. Bokova discussed the actual level of relations between Belarus and UNESCO, as well as prospects for further cooperation. In particular, Mrs. Kupchyna told the UNESCO Director General on the main activities of the National Commission of Belarus for UNESCO in the fields of education, science and culture. Mrs. Bokova was also informed about new initiatives of Belarus to reward Belarusian cultural workers for their great contribution to the development of international cultural cooperation, as well as to obtain UNESCO's patronage of some international cultural events in Belarus in 2016.

Within the framework of the general discussion of the 38th session of the UNESCO General Conference, on November 5, 2015 Mrs Kupchyna made a statement that outlined the key positions and priorities of Belarus on cooperation in the framework of the UNESCO (see text).

The 38th session of UNESCO's General Conference will work until November 18, 2015.
